Why God’s Organization Chart Matters

>> Did you know God has a plan for everything?

He’s a God of order and structure, not disorder and chaos. And that’s especially true when it comes to His Church! His Church is most definitely not a “fly by the seat of your pants” operation. Yes, of course, we’re led by the Holy Spirit in our lives, but when it comes to building His church, God has a plan and a structure — especially as it relates to His “org chart.”

First, Jesus is the head of the Church and ultimate has authority over all things. He’s the boss and He calls the shots…and our response is always, “Yes, Sir!” “I’m Yours to Command!”

Then, the Bible tells us in Ephesians 4 that God also established “ministry offices” for those who are His on-earth leaders of the Church. The 5 ministry offices include: apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. The Bible also goes on to tell us that the purpose of these leaders is to teach and equip the whole body of Christ for the work of the ministry. Look and listen to this below:

Ephesians 4:11 – 12 (Message) – “He handed out gifts of apostle, prophet, evangelist, and pastor-teacher to train Christ’s followers in skilled servant work, working within Christ’s body, the church, until we’re all moving rhythmically and easily with each other, efficient and graceful in response to God’s Son, fully mature adults, fully developed within and without, fully alive like Christ.”

Why does God have an organizational chart and structure for His Church? So that we move rhythmically, easily, efficiently and gracefully within the Body of Christ! And so that we become fully developed and fully alive like Christ.

That all sounds good to me…how about you?

>> See, God is so good to us; even when He asks us to do the “tough stuff” like submit to His delegated leaders, it’s always and only for our BENEFIT!

LET’S PRAY AND MAKE THIS FAITH DECLARATION:

“Heavenly Father, I love learning about Your plan and structure for the Church. I am so grateful that I can always trust Jesus, the Head of the Church, and I am grateful for the men and women you’ve called to serve in key ministry offices. Help me to receive, respect, and regard them always as precious gifts and treasures from You Lord. Help me to honor, respect and serve Your delegated leaders to the best of my ability – for Your glory and for my benefit. I want to live fully alive like Christ! I want and desire to live pleasing to You Lord in way I treat and honor my spiritual leaders and my co-laborers in Christ. Thank You Father for infusing and igniting my heart with a passion for Your Church and a purposeful passion for the Pastors and people of God You have placed in Yours and my Church. Thank You Father God for helping me BE the Church and BUILD Your Local Church. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”
