Living In The Center of God’s Will

Today, we want to ask you a question…

How can we be sure we are living smack dab in the center of God’s will? Is that even possible? Yes, it is! The secret is found in this verse:
“But He answered and said, It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.'” – Matthew 4:4, NKJV

Let’s look closely at that verse:

Man Shall Not Live By Bread Alone: According to Strong’s Concordance, the version of living that is mentioned in this scripture means “to enjoy real life, to have true life, to be full of vigor, to be fresh and strong.” It denotes the idea of an active, blessed life.

Although physical food is necessary to sustain our physical bodies, it’s not enough to give us this true, abundant life that Jesus was talking about in Matthew 4:4. We can eat natural food all day long and still not truly enjoy life.

Wouldn’t you agree — if our hearts and minds are in a place of unrest, dissatisfaction or turmoil, we can’t truly enjoy life to the full. Jesus wants us to truly live…after all, that’s why He came (John 10:10)!

So, if food and things in the natural world aren’t enough to help us live this active, blessed life — what are we to live by?

But By Every Word That Proceeds From the Mouth of God: We are to live by the words that proceed from God’s mouth!

Why? Because God’s WORDS are God’s WILL! If you want to know how to live smack dab in the center of God’s will…it starts by reading, listening and knowing God’s Word.

“Word” in this scripture above is the Greek word “rhema” — and it means “that which is uttered by the Living Voice.” The word “proceeds” means to go forth, to depart or to flow forth [from God’s mouth].

So, when God’s living words flow forth from His mouth to our hearts…either by us reading the Bible (the written Word) or by listening to the Holy Spirit speaking to us on the inside…we should live by those words. Those words contain God’s will for our lives!

>> To live out the life God desires for us (His will), we must hear from Him and follow what He says!

I love that God makes it simple and straight-forward! He wants you to know His will for your life and for you to experience a blessed and joy-filled life in Him!

Today, if you need direction, wisdom, security, strength, deliverance, confidence or guidance in God’s will for your life, it’s time to turn to the One who speaks living words! I encourage you to set aside some time today to talk with God and read your Bible — letting the rhema words of God speak to your heart!

Say This and Pray This Out Loud: “Father, thank You that You give me Your living Word so that I can have true life! Lord, I ask You to speak ‘rhema’ words to my heart as I spend time with You and read my Bible. I will live by those words because I know they are Your will! In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”
